The Ormylia Foundation received scientific recognition for its breast cancer program that serves women from the Muslim communities in Thrace. These populations include Pomaks, Roma and Turkish speaking groups.

A medical training workshop will take place at the Ormylia Foundation Center of Panagia Philanthropini 27 & 28 September 2012 with the theme: “Medical Care for under privilege children”. This is an activity that will take place in the context of the developing partnership between the Ormylia Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania Medical and Nursing Schools and the Philadelphia Children’s Hospital. The 2009 Annual Conference of Orthodox Christian Association of Medicine, Psychology, and Religion (OCAMPR) will focus on Care for the Severely Challenged Patient. Presentations at the conference will review the needs of patients with chronic illnesses and severe and persisting trauma from a pastoral, medical, and psychotherapeutic perspective.
