Description of Network

With the blessing of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate decided to form the Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Health Care in 2008.

The "Patriarchal Network" has a socio–medical and educational character. Its objective is to enable those involved:

to provide spiritual support and guidance to those that are sick and to their family members;
to promote a high-quality care on all levels of human existence;
to help and support all those that minister to the ill, establishing in this way a spiritual bond, that will allow all to share the difficulties and problems in their ministry and to conjointly benefit from each other’s knowledge and experience;
to contribute to the ongoing education in the area of health and pastoral care.
