OCAMPR Hosts Conference on Resiliency
This November 2 – 4, the Orthodox Christian Association of Medicine, Psychology, and Religion (OCAMPR) will come together in a pan-Orthodox Conference at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Somerset, NJ. Participants will consider the theme, “Resiliency: Body, Mind, and Spirit.”
His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese ofAmerica, will deliver the Keynote Address. Three plenary speakers will expand onthe topic of Resiliency with medical, psychological, and theological perspectives. Dn.Euthym Kontaxis, M.D., will give the medical perspective. Dr. Kontaxis is theMedical Director of the Emergency Department at Eisenhower Medical Center inRancho Mirage, CA. Demetra Jaquet, D.Min., will speak on the psychologicalperspective. Dr. Jaquet is a retired Pastoral Counselor, Spiritual Director and Chaplain. The Very Rev. John Behr, D.Phil., will address the theological perspective. Fr. John is the Dean, Rector, Director of the Master of Theology Program and Professor of Patristics at Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary in Yonkers, NY.
