The feeling of failure and psychological-spiritual exhaustion
“Theories regarding burn-out syndrome describe four consecutive stages in which it develops: 1) enthusiasm; 2) questioning and stagnancy; 3) disappointment and the feeling of vanity; 4) apathy….
How comfortable do we feel to confess our failures?
Here, an example in the New Testament comes to show us the two opposite ways in dealing with our failures. The difference in the stance that Peter took from that of Judas does not lie in the severity of their actions (denial – betrayal) but the different way in which they dealt with their consequences. In contrast to Judas, Peter took on the cost of confessing his failure and his denial, while Judas denied the social cost of his actions so much that it led him to committing suicide because of his dismay.”
