Τhe cry of those that are weary and burdened
The Holy and Great Church of Christ carefully hears the cry of those that are weary and burdened, of victims of injustice, poverty and violence. It resists the various attempts to see man as an object, which is done either in the name of politics and economy, or in the name of culture, nation or science. It struggles so that a civilization of solidarity and brotherhood can predominate. In this struggle, the Church refers us to the true source of freedom, Christ, who is the truth. “Know the truth and truth will free us" (John 8:32).
Christ always intervenes for man, strengthening our effort, mobilizing the unprecedented power which transfigures our being. “For you were called to freedom, brethren” (Gal. 5:13). The highest expression of freedom is love, the unknowable mystery of life in Christ.
